Speaker, Author & Host of THE CONVERSATION TABLE
EDUCATE. MOTIVATE. INSPIRE.
Born in Quito, Ecuador and adopted and raised in a small midwestern city in the United States, JC Hurtado-Prater is a motivational speaker, educator, author and founder & host of The Conversation Table, a talk show dedicated to engaging celebrated leaders and thinkers, introducing new people, exploring fresh ideas and illuminating difficult issues. The core philosophy surrounding The Conversation Table is the belief that rigorous conversation is the key to understanding people and ideas more effectively in the progressively complex world in which we live.
JC, a veteran of the United States Army, non-profit leader and minister, has given his life to exploring and communicating complex issues. The Conversation Table is a non-biased platform in which the viewer can hear both sides to many current issues and work to reach their own conclusions. The purpose is to spark conversation for the purpose of growth and change.
JC is deeply involved in his local community, serving on the board of directors for South Bay Community Services, the Chancellor’s Community Advisory Board for the University of California, San Diego and the Southwestern College Foundation board. In addition, JC travels as a member of the Los Angeles Chargers Outreach Team, speaking to local incarcerated youths in the Southern California region. Passionate about education, JC also teaches as an adjunct professor at Point Loma Nazarene University.
JC is a graduate of UCLA with an MBA from Saint Joseph's College of Maine and is currently working towards a doctorate in Education, Policy and Organizational Leadership through the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. JC, a father of three daughters, makes his home in San Diego, CA where he serves as the worship pastor for New Hope Eastlake, a congregation that reaches 2,000 people in the South Bay region, and spends his free time reading, working out, hiking and kayaking.
