JC Hurtado-Prater is the Principal and Executive Advisor at Montara Leadership Partners, LLC, a San Diego-based leadership advisory firm where he partners with executives and leadership teams to drive clarity, alignment, execution, and long-term performance. With two decades of experience in leadership development, organizational strategy, and executive coaching, JC has consulted for global organizations such as Johnson & Johnson, Cisco, Visa, the U.S. Navy, Department of the Interior, CDC, Harbor Freight, Park Hyatt and more.
In addition to leading Montara Leadership Partners, JC serves as Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Leadership and Management at the Fermanian School of Business at Point Loma Nazarene University, overseeing the external relations initiatives for the business school. A U.S. Army veteran, he holds a BA from UCLA, an MBA from Saint Joseph’s College, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Deeply rooted in the San Diego community, JC has served on the boards of UC San Diego, South Bay Community Services, Thrivent Financial, and the Southwestern College Foundation. He lives in 4S Ranch and has a passion for reading, training, and kayaking the California coast.
